My
name is Judy Alt and I know the deep and anguishing pain of losing a child.
There is no greater burden to be carried in this life.
In May of 1993 I entered the hellish nightmare every parent faces when
their child’s life is held by a thread. When my Brian died, I entered
depths of darkness I could never have imagined. From that pit of disbelief,
I screamed over and over, "Why? Oh, God, why?"
He
was gone so quickly. Playing a harmless game of high-powered water rifles
turned to tragedy. Brian was struck by a car driven by a friend as he played
on a beach road. Thrown off the hood of the car, he landed with the back
of his head squarely onto a concrete lamp post. He briefly looked up at
his friends, smiled and then closed his eyes. GONE – JUST GONE –
THAT QUICK!
